好不容易, 第一刷關於夏威夷太平洋大學同學會的新聞終於誕生了! 我希望各位學長學姊學弟學妹們能夠不時的藉由同學會所收集來資訊，獲取各方面的新知。在現今這個社會，知道得越多；懂得越多，並不能防止被公司裁員，卻能夠幫助你獲得一分在社會上的競爭優勢。由於這是同學會的第一次，希望大家能夠多多提供意見，共襄盛舉。

Jason Lee, chairman, stated:

a) The Alumni to eventually become a family, not merely to contact, or networking; but a place where members feel at ease and in comfort of each other’s presence –“to share and to enjoy.”

b) Meeting scheduled once every two months.

c) Proposal to register the Alumni under the Taipei government.

d) Suggestions of charging a membership fee, setting up a monthly newsletter with update news on latest developments, possibility of an Alumni anthem etc..

Guest Speaker: Mr. P. Dick Rotary Int’l

a) Basically an association of this sort is usually tight, conservative in nature.

b) Embodies the fundamental principle of “sourcing ahead.”

c) The motto for any organization must become the esprit de corps of the group and its members.

d) The important relationship between “people (in this case, HPU Alumni’s members) and money” to be in complete harmony and unity.

e) It is crucial to keep and maintain up-to-date records of all members’ particulars pertaining to their current jobs and any affiliated organizations they belong etc.. Its purpose is to extend human resources networking. In this respect, members of the Rotary Int’l Club help to open up new opportunities of meeting and knowing each other on a regular basis.

f) Fundraising is a critical factor that is crucial to the survival of any association.

在西門町享用高貴不貴的下午茶

莎慕瓦，這個帶著浪漫異國風味的法國茶館，秉持著理想在台北西門鬧區中特異獨行了 5年，靜靜地吸引著聞香下馬的知音們。無論你是什麼個性、喜好為何，都能在莎慕瓦找到屬於自己的茶香。經典正統的「皇家俄羅斯（奶）茶」、綜合日本煎茶與台灣烏龍的調味茶「可人的夕陽」，香甜的果粒茶「快樂花園」和結合了當地氣味的產地茶，琳瑯滿目、不勝枚舉。這兒的茶葉來自法、德等國，多達三百多種，不定時又會有新的茶葉進口，即使一天換一種，一年下來也喝不完。

店名「莎慕瓦」（Samowar）這個名詞，其實是一種壺形的金屬製品，於17世紀由法國波旁王朝傳入俄國沙皇王室。因為這種茶炊能夠隨時加熱，最適合天寒地凍的俄國，因而普遍了起來。相信嗎？開設這家店的點子，竟是店長阿正唸書時的期末報告。而阿正就像一部茶字典般，有著你翻閱不完的茶知識，以及對茶的執著與熱情。

沒有鋪張的裝潢，莎慕瓦堅持讓客人以平實的價格、無負擔的輕鬆氣氛，在西門鬧區一方寧靜的空間中喝好茶。所以好不容易來到西門町，實在不可不知莎慕瓦。（游惠玲）
